Biography
Wang Hao (Chinese simplified 王皓, born August 4, 1989, in Harbin). Grandmaster since 2005. His peak (and current) rating is 2758 (as of February 2020). He is number fourteen in the world.

He is a winner of the youth Chess Olympiads for U16 boys (in 2002, 2004) as part of team China. Note that in 2004 he scored 8 out of 9 on board one. He won the youth tournament in Yakutsk (2004), as well as tournaments in Dubai (2005), Kuala Lumpur (2005 and 2007), and Reykjavik (2008). He is the 2010 champion of China.

He has been a member of the symbolic club named after Mikhail Chigorin (in honor of those who defeated the world champions) since January 27, 2013. He is the first Chinese player to have defeated the world champion in classical chess.

He earned his ticket to the Candidates Tournament by becoming a winner of the first FIDE Grand Swiss in October 2019, ahead of Magnus Carlsen and Fabiano Caruana.
